EAD and self employment
Hi guys,
I have a general question - can EAD holder (E3D visa) work for themselves? Like say my wife had to sell some small stuff on ebay? Thanks. |

Thanks. She has done this stuff couple of other countries and never declared any income primarily given it was done to keep her occupied more than anthing. Of course I am not suggesting any illegal ways of carrying it in US but it will be small stuff here and there and to be honest probably will struggle to break even. But I don't want to ignore my responsibility and want to stay away from trouble :)

Yes, but be aware of the tax situation if you are filing as non-residents as filing 1040NR as a self-employed person is rare.

Wife and I moved up here 7 months ago on a non immigrant visa (E-3 and E3D)...as I understand we both are/will be residents for tax purposes.... How does that change anything, if any? |

It doesn't change anything. Steve likes to toss random stuff into the mix for, apparently, no good reason at all.
