Re: E2 Visa Application about to Commence
I'm in no rush. As you may or may not know I'm an aircraft engineer by trade and it's an industry that nothing ever happens quickly in. I'm quite content to bide my time and wait for things to happen. The site looks really Gucci and I may only be a spanner monkey but visually/aesthetically it was very impressive.

Once again, many thanks. I'm getting ready to fly out to Atlanta on Friday morning, to sort out apartment, office etc. Looking forward to getting cracking. It's taken long enough already.

The British weather is something I certainly won't miss. Looking forward to living in a warm and sunny climate for a change. Also, I can finally get away from all this talk of cuts, Phone hacking etc. To say i've had a gut full of it would be an understatement.

Won't you find it slightly unnerving not to have to concern yourself with any of the matters of the once "Great" Britain anymore?
There's a statment for what you're doing. It's called "living the dream"!!

I have to tell you, it saddens me to see what's happening to this country. It has really gone downhill in the last 10 years.
The riots of last week were in many ways the final affirmation of that. Just when you thought it could get no worse, along comes our Politicians and media spouting such utter tripe about the causes of the riots. I'm at the point now where I no longer care. I just want to take my money, family and myself and go somewhere else where you are allowed to make money without being treated like you robbed somebody's grandmother for it.
Perhaps i'll grow to miss the place some day. I can't think that far ahead though.

And that's the crux of the whole thing. You aren't encouraged to be successful in the UK anymore bacuse if you make too much money it's just taken off you. Enterprise and initiative isn't encouraged. It's stifled.
The only way to make momey in this country is to either be a crook or become a politician. Which when I read that back, is pretty much the same thing.
And if you are anything like me you won't miss it in the least. I spent 7 years in the RAF and I imagine that my predecessors in the forces are turning in their graves at the state the place is in and what they gave their lives for. Last week was the final straw for me.....

I'm afraid Socialism has really done for this country. The culture of envy has basically led to everyone sitting back, hating on successful people, and wanting the same even though they have never got off their backsides to get it. The funny thing is it has nothing to do with poverty either. It's purely to do with the culture that's been created by the Politicians and the Media.
I think it will take something drastic to change things, though I can't really see that happening. I hope it changes, I really do, but I won't hold my breath. In the meantime, I'll just concentrate on me and try to make my life a success.

Well it sounds like you have your head screwed on! I bet the missus and small one are getting excited too! Don't forget to keep this thread updated - I'd be very interested in what happens AFTER that visa stamping. That's usually the last you hear of it, but I bet there's lot of people left wondering 'Um....what next?'.
I'm liking what you're saying about your site - I must join once I have my degree under that belt. Late developer, been so busy running my own businesses I quite forgot to get that bit of paper
I agree with you both. The riots were pretty much the last straw for me. Of course, the grass isn't always greener - you still have to take out the rubbish and clean the loo, but at least the weather's better! I have family that moved out when myself and my cousins were small and they've got a much better quality of life on pretty much the same money. In the end it's a personal choice which bit of the rock you want to park yourself, and if that's your goal, then give it a shot!

And the Politicians are possibly even more crooked.

Re: E2 Visa Application about to Commence
Thanks for the PM. We are still ironing out some creases in the back end during our beta phase, so i'll incorporate the issues you raised.
The site does not officially go live for another couple of weeks, allowing us time to build in some final features. However, you are able to register even though we are in testing phase.
Thanks for your support.

Yeah, meant to mention I registered on the UK site no problem (lovely way of easing you into a CV btw) but am still awaiting my email from the US site. Have contacted support though.
And yes, there's low lifes everywhere, but in the end we don't fancy being here any more. Simple as really.
