DV-2003 interview
Dear all,
I am one of the lucky guys who has been selected for the further consideration for the DV-2003 immigrant diversity program. My case number is below AS1200. I am currently living in New York with my H1-B Visa and I chose to have my AOS at my local INC in New York City (it may be a mistake). I have mailed out all my application materials in the beginning of Oct and am still waiting for the notice from INS.
I am wondering if anyone has already received a notice from your local INS for application received comfirmation or interview. I just want to know how much chance I have for interview.
Also, what can I do now? ... except just waiting. Can I call INS asking for my application status?
Thank you for your kindly help
Kuen

I think it was indeed a mistake; INS in New York is notorious for being
very slow. I hope they get around to your case before September 2003.
At this point, you should continue to follow up with them and make sure
your case doesn't get forgotten. You may want to contact your
Congressperson to ensure it is processed on time.

Re: DV-2003 interview
Should I withdraw my application from INS, New York? If I start to re-submit my application materials to my home country's U.S. Consulate, is it too late? And what is the progress if I apply the DV Green Card by the U.S. Consulate? Anybody know who is the congressperson in New York City?
I am appreciate if anyone can help me this.

Don't try to withdraw the application. At least, not until you consulted
with an immigration attorney. It can seriously mess up your case, and may
not even be possible at this stage.
As for the congressperson, check the blue pages in your phone book, or
http://www.house.gov or
http://www.senate.gov. I know that one Senator
for NY is Hillary Clinton, and I believe the other is Pataki (or was he
the governor of NY? I'm sorry, but I live in California)
