Duvet/Duvet Cover/Comforter aghhhhhhhhh
So I've been in the USA now for a four years and I still don't understand how to explain to my wife that we need a duvet and some duvet covers. She doesn't get it and starts confusing me with terms like quilt/blanket/down comforter.
I just want a fluffy duvet and some covers, and nobody seems to understand what I am on about. Am I missing something here, does anyone know where I can buy a standard British duvet for a queen sized bed and some covers. I don't want anything fancy just something fluffy and snuggly. |

Do you have Homesense/Winners in the US? Or a decent quality department store? Or Bed, Bath & Beyond or equivalent? They all have duvets and covers (enough to break the bank, mind you ;) ) in Canada so I'm guessing you must have something similar somewhere ... keep taking her shopping. :D

The Company Store.
They call duvets comforters, but refer to duvet covers just to confuse you. They aren't cheap, but they do excellent down and if you live in the tundra like I do they'll save you plenty on the overnight heating bills. http://www.thecompanystore.com/Duvet...efault,sc.html |

Target/Marshalls/TJMax/Home Sense...if you shop carefully you will get a good quality duvet from these stores. The large department stores and Bed Bath and Beyond also sell them but they usually cost considerably more. Unfortunately choice of covers tend to be limited.

I just got the lot from Ikea too. King size duvet and covers and then found the cover I had from UK seemed a pretty good fit too. (cheapy market stall one)

I got my last duvet and covers from a sale at Macy's. Looks like they currently have some special offers:

My current duvet covers are down or feather and down (1 from Target and 1 from TJMax). I've given up on man made fillings as they go flat. I like to shake them out and fluff them up.

Our duvet, that we rarely use, is made from organic cotton and wool. It was quite pricey, but worth it.

I've never seen duvet covers in (Super) Target or Bed/Bath/Bonkers - must look more closely next time! Macy's is a new one on me, might just nip down at lunchtime... thanks!

Found out that a "sham" is a pillow case that has extra fabric around the edges.
