Default Dumbest Decisions

Just reading about the Eastenders/cancellation thing got me thinking
(yes I know, I've been told about this thinking thing.)

This has got to rank up these with one of the most stupid decisions ever made.
- Cancelling Eastenders just before Dirty Den reappears (and probably guaranteeing double the viewing figures)
That exec has made the list.

- Another one I've though of is the Decca exec who turned down The Beatles.
(But later on made up for it by signing the Stones)

- Gerald Ratner and his "crap" speech, contender for number one.

- The supreme court judge who decided Bush won the election (when he didn't)

Who else is on the list ?
Who in your opinion dropped a monumental bollock ?

1. Mr Fish's classic ' What Hurricane ? ' in 1987.

2. Decca Record's ' Guitar groups are on the way out' to the Beatles

3. The quote about Fred Astaire from a knowing studio executive...' Bald, short..but can dance a bit.'

Any discussion of monumentally bad decisions should give serious consideration to the people who decided to demolish New York's Penn Station in the early 60s. Have you seen what it was like in old photos? It made Grand Central look like a bus shelter.
