Default Dual nationality but how to find a job

So i'm lucky enough to have both British and American citizenship thus therefore completely legal to work in the US and would very much like to do so at some point in the next few years. However, I'm not sure about how to go about getting a graduate job there once I graduate from university in a years time. I'm studying a non vocational degree (Russian and Politics) and am still very unsure about what career i want to have. If i was to just go there for a few months to hunt for jobs would I have any realistic chance in the current climate? Or if I was to get further qualifications in the UK to make myself more employable any advice as to what would help my chances of getting a decent job in the US? I had been thinking of doing a law conversion course but of course that won't fit with my desire to work in America. Anybody know if British accountancy/financial qualifications are valued over there? Or any other skills/ training you'd recommend?
Also looking at the tuition fees, don't think i can afford to do a Masters in the US.

You'll probably qualify for in-state tuition rates at state colleges as soon as you've been here a year. In addition, you should qualify for scholarships, grants and loans.

You're certainly going to be much more employable in the US with an American master's than a UK one. I'd plan to come over for a year and work anything you get while planning to re-enter college a year after you arrive.

Depends on age and degree studying for.

Also if your male, have you filed with the SS and filed taxes?

As for jobs, try and define what you want to do, join groups related to it and network, just like anywhere, but getting a masters in the US will help with politics.

You may also consider whether you want to go directly into a 'career' or just take a job to pay the bills first. When you do decide to pursue the career track, it certainly seems to me that to be competitive (esp without experience) a Masters is an advantage.
A friend of mine was in the same position as you when she graduated (though this was in 1999). Her mother's family come from California, so she moved there pretty much straight away. She has a degree in Marine Biology, but that never took off and she works in payments at a hospital. I don't think it's what she dreamt of, but she does seem to be very happy and the lifestyle suits her
