Default DS 230 Part 1 Questions

Hi,

I have some questions regarding how to answer some of the questions in DS-230 Part 1

(14) Name of Spouse ... ?

I'm Engaged and heading over to get married so do I leave this blank as I have a fiancee and not a spouse / write not applicable / other ?

(22) In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States ... ?

I'm a teacher now, but I'll do whatever work I need to to help us.

Should I put "Ideally teaching, as this is my profession here"
even though I'd rather not do it over there

or something else ???

I just need the answers to these and DS-156 (see separate thread) and then I can send the stuff off - hooray !!

Many Thanks

Richard

As a fiance you might use N/A as the name of your spouse is not an applicable
question for a fiance visa.

Say teaching if that is your plan. The visa form is multipurpose. Your occupation
doesn't really matter

Don't sweat the questions on DS 230. They are generally irrelavant to fiance visas
since it generally doesn't matter what occupation you have.

You shouldn't worry too much about the "job question"
The INS are aware that the majority of "aliens" have no job to go to.

Well, regarding the occupation you intend to work in the US, my wife and I left it
blank when we submitted this form to the consulate in Rio de Janeiro. Like you, we
had no idea what she'd want to do here in the US. Her visa was issued yesterday with
no problem, and they never questioned either one of us regarding this blank field.

Good luck!
