Traffic lights usually stand or hang on the other side of the intersection or across. So don't stop right in front of them because then you'll be on the middle of the intersection. With the exception of a few cities (Boston is probably one of them), most drivers here are very unassertive, have poor traffic laws knowledge and will piss you off by not moving to the slow lane, like ever... The really don't use mirrors here.

On the subject of driving, I saw a crash earlier.

Someone had rear-ended a police car when it had pulled someone over and had all it's lights flashing!
