Driving license.

Hi,

I just renewed my driving license and although i have had a US license for a constant 3 years, when they renewed it they based it on my I-94 instead of my 3 year work visa. :curse: Does any know if they are supposed to base licenses on I-94 or visas?

They said that they made a mistake last time and i should have only recieved a license for a year instead of 3 years....before i shout at the DMV i was wondering if anyone else had had these issues!

Thanks loads
Sam x

Why is the date on your I-94 different from the one on your visa?

Ours were always the same.

I-94 date would be the right one for the DMV.

There's no such thing as a US license, it all varies from state to
state. What they should do depends on what they're trying to achieve.
If they only want to give you a license for the time you are currently
authorized to be in the USA, it should be based on the date on your
I-94.

How did you end up with an I-94 date sooner than the end of your visa,
as a matter of interest?
