I would agree, you ain't got a chance in hell of doing what you plan over here.

I often wondered how they did it on 'Top Gear' last year. I suppose the BBC has some pull, where as a 19 year old ain't got a chance in hell.
Renting would work but it would cost you thousands due to your age.

Have you considered Greyhound buses? You can get to most places and pretty cheaply.

Guy who used to work for me cycled coast-to-coast a few years back. Damn sight cheaper way of doing it!

Oh god, I did parts on the Greyhound, and don't recommend it, unless you like living in fear of life and limb! Ick.

Amtrak? Foreign passport holders can get big reductions on rail passes!

You don't need to re register a car when you move across a state unless you intend to take up residence there. We went through 6 states were stopped by the police even and had no problems.
