I went to get my drivers license today and they said it will only be valid until the
expiry date of the I-94 in my passport. Do I get something when I apply for AOS after
the wedding that allows me to extend this?

Depending on the state you should be able to use an EAD to get a more permanent one
(though perhaps just a year at a time).

Andy.

Thanks Andy,

We're getting married on the 24th and filing AOS as soon as we can after that. We
will be well within the 90 days but as far as I'm aware the EAD takes ages here in
Phoenix and there is no way I will have it by March 4th when my license runs out.
Does that mean I have to do it all over again at some later date?

Anybody know how having such a short term license affects insurance?

Yes here in Phoenix, Arizona, once you get your EAD they will issue a new license
that expires the same time as the EAD. If you are filing your AOS at the Phoenix
Office they can do the 1 year EAD on the day in certain circumstances. (i.e. letter
from employer saying that it is needed to keep employment) Also the mailed in form
only took 30 days this year not the 90+ of last year.

Thanks Andrew,

Did you file your AOS at Phoenix? Any helpful tips?
