FOAD being an accronym for "**** off and die", and STFU being an acconym for
"Shut The **** Up", all I can say is that such person should understand that
being out of status is illegal and that it is reasonnable to expect that
he/she wouldn't have access to a driving license as a result.

In addition, with that attitude, everybody would have been better off if
he/she would have stayed in his/her home country

Get married:)-

As far as I know (and this was a while back like in 2000), in some
parts of california, like in LA, those one student visa are not given
SSN. So they get a letter form SSN office about that and show it to
DMVto apply for DL. And to go to SSN office student visa holders
needed a letter form the school.

BTW, during that time, i.e same year, my nephew who was on student visa
in CA (not in LA area) applied for SSN w/o a letter forms chool - his
school was in another state but he landed iN CA first and styed with my
sister - and got it.

I don't know whether you can get a letter from SS Office if you are not
on legal status.

I do not know which states nowadays doesn't require SSN for DL.
