On the dole. Moving to USA to be on Welfare?

Is this possible. I have 12 years experience being on the dole. Is it possible to transfer my benefits to the USA. I'd love to live there. Florida sounds nice.

Thanks in advance.

You don't want to live in Florida mate. Apparently you can't get a plumber or a kitchen fitter for love nor money.

Although if you are a plumber or kitchen fitter, currently claiming sickies or something, you could make a fortune moonlighting.

I wouldn't bother...you get loads of free stuff in the US if you're out of work ie housing + utilities, education, transport, medical expenses incl. meds, plus a very generous cash payout each month. Oh I forgot to mention the all expenses paid holidays, 3 per year but soon to be increased. I believe Florida is a wonderful place to live, almost zero crime, temperate climate (no hurricanes or storms etc), low cost of living, hardly any tourists. Can't understand why my husband bothers to work at all, unless he's trying to get away from me 13 hrs a day. :)

For more information on the above benefits (in particular, the all expenses paid holidays), contact FEMA.

Can I bring my Sky decoder box too? I want to be able to watch the footy. I've heard that I might need a voltage convertor to make it work in the USA.

And I have seen people in the UK go to the back of the computer and switch the power supply to 110V thinking that it will "save them money" by using less electricity.

Just the ariel, you can pick up BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 with it. You have to bring your UK ariel though because a US ariel will only pick up US channels  BBC1 Eastenders though will still have Angie and Den together (and alive)

You can bring your VHS tapes too because they spin the same way. They only won't work in the southern hemsiphere because VCR's spin in the other direction
