We have 3 dogs and have recently moved over to California from the UK... i have been told that the dogs need registering (by a friend)Is it required? Is it like the old UK Dog License? Where can I find info about it?

We went to the local village hall and paid $8 to have our UK dog registered. They look at the rabies certificate and then issued a dog tag that lasts as long as the rabies shot is valid for. Our village Hall has a web site that gives all the information needed. Your area must have something similar. Hope this helps.

Most cities require you to have a dog license for each dog - in San Francisco it's about $10/year. Usually if you go online you can do a search of where you should go an once you have made the initial visit, you can usually renew every 5 years or so by mail.

Your local county office should have an online information form for registering for a dog licence, its usually around $10 per year, often half price if the dog is neutered.
