I know I can be opinionated about things, but i always try to be respectful to people and although I can defend myself when attacked, why would someone do that? It really upset me, and i felt totally embarassed in front of my friends, some of whom happen to be colleages too.
My friends felt like she thought she was some kind of celebrity because she was English... and maybe I stepped on her toes?

I have met Brits just like you, who for some reason think now we have to be buddy buddy etc. Well in fact, it just nice to meet a fellow country folk, this maybe a Brit thing because I have worked with a lot of Americans when I was in the UK and they were always egar to meet fellow Americans etc.

Sorry about that Cutina....I'd had a few too many beers.
Seriously...what pub were you in? Rookwood? We should meet up for a pint so I can be one of those clingy Brit friends that AWP was talking about

Judging by what I see here at BE, I think a huge get together of all BE members somewhere might actually require riot police in body armor.

In any case, in situations like that, I'd turn the tables on her and ask her to answer some questions that you'd pose and see if she answers them correctly. If not, calling her a "dumb bitch" would seem quite appropriate though you'd be stooping to her level.
