Default Do they accept Sworn Affidavit for Birth Certificate at the US Embassy

I lost my Nigerian Birth Certificate but have sing a Legal Sworn Affidavit since. Does any one know whether this is acceptable at the embassy? I am almost due for my V-Visa interview.

Please respond!

Foley,
From this INS webpage it would seem an original sworn affidavit would
suffice.

I'm sure others more knowledgeable will respond to your post.

Hi:

It depends. Go to http://travel.state.gov and drill down through the "visa reciprocity tables" link. This is what the consulate depends upon.

Also, you should be aware that the State Department does not trust documents from Nigeria due to poor experience in the past.
