No need to be sorry. I understood immediately that your one year is from July to July and not to the end of 2013.

Other than concerns about an agency finding him a position, please note that US schools rarely use "agencies" to screen prospective teachers. Usually there is a school website and in that website is an employment area that lists upcoming positions to be filled.

His main stumbling block will be that he does not have the educational certification that US teachers are required to have. He might well have to take a lesser position as a substitute or teacher's aid and go for his certificate while working. Or he can do that before attempting to work.

May I suggest that you look through the forum for employment on this site which has a good deal of information on working in the US as a teacher, nurse, etc.
