Default Did VSC receive it?....

Hi Folks,
I entered USA on a K1 visa on July 19th, and we got married on August 2nd. I sent out my application for I-485, I-765, etc on Sep 27th.

However, I didn't see INS cash out my checks yet.

I am worried because I read about if one doesn't apply within 3 months (for me it is Oct 18th), then it is likely some INS will not accept the case.

I am wondering is it a problem? Or how can I contact Vermont center for my case?

Thank you very much.

Best,
JBJ

Hello JBJ

What state did you move to? When my husband moved here on a K-1 we went
personally to the field office to apply for his AOS. I may be wrong but
around the time that we were dealing with the INS the service centers didn't
accept AOS applications they had to be filed with the local field office in
your state. Hope things work out for you.

Unless you live in the Baltimore, MD INS jurisdiction, you were to file at the local INS level.

As for your thoughts on the 3 month issue, I'm assuming you are referring to the 90 day validity of the K-1 in which you have to marry. There is no problem if your AOS filing occurs after the 90th day. The crux of the matter is the marriage date.

Alc and Rete,
Thank you for your information.

Right now, I am living in Lexington Park Maryland, zip code 20653. I don't know where to file it, it seems that my local INS office is Baltimore, isn't it?

Hence, I sent it out to Vermont, I was completely confused in the forms, and assumed that i need to send things to VSC.

If it is not correct, can I correct it now?

I am in a school right now, and I am so tied up with school stuff, and that's the reason why I didn't pay too much attention on this.

My husband will be mad this time, he always pushed me to do it well, since he is also busy with his work.

I really should go back to the group at the time.

Appreciate it very much.

Best,
JBJ

Another potential problem-causing issue occured to me just now, though I am living in Maryland Lexington Park, however, on the I-485 form, i put down my parent-in-law's address, which is in Delaware, because, we rent an apartment in Maryland, and might be able to stay there for too long.

However, on the cover letter, othe forms such as 325, i765, i put down the address in Maryland,

Can it cause a big problem? Can I even retrieve my status right now?

Thank you so much, and I am so worried right

If you live here in MD then you were correct in sending it to VSC. Once VSC
does the initial processing, they will send you an NOA, then forward the
whole mess to Baltimore, where they will schedule your interview.

When you mailed it off, did you send it certified mail with return receipt?

if you put your MD address for where you live but your parents address in DE
for receiving mail, you should be fine.

Mrs_blackross,
Thank you so much, I am a little bit relieved.

I did put my MD address as the living address on Bio325 and other forms, and only on I485 the address (c/o) part, I put my parents' address.

Appreciate it great.

Cheers,
JBJ

I sent the mail out using a priority mail with a trace number. I called and found it was delivered on Sept 27th, and I guess it might not be the certified mail you mentioned. Actually, I never knew there is such kind of service.

Thanks a lot.
