Default Dettol...any alternative?

OK, I know this is quite sad, but does anyone know of a worthy alernative to Dettol here?

Couldn't find it at the local supermarket and was wondering whether it's worth looking elsewhere or whether anyone knows a good substitute.

Don't know where you're at.....but I've seen Dettol in a few British speciality shops. Not sure if there is an American alternative, sorry.

If you're sad, so am I - I've looked all over to find a substitute for Dettol, but haven't been able to find anything similar here. Maybe there's something by prescription from the doctor ? I wonder! That could figure - then they'd charge an arm and a leg for it.

I have seen it in several stores NYC. West Indian, Indian, Pakistani and of course the Brit store. I think i even saw it in a Bodega in Brooklyn.

The Indian stores in my part of the world all carry it. I've not found a replacement for it.

Kroger has Dettol, they have a British section but it wasn't there, I think it was in the Caribbean section. I've just finished the bottle I had so I hope they've still got it.

I don't use the normal Dettol, but they always seem to have that in the Brit shop here. What I really miss is the Dettol Antibacterial surface cleanser ( http://www.dettol.co.uk/sf_kitchen.shtml ) that I used at home. I loved that stuff so much, you could use it on surfaces & not have to wash it off after, you could eat right off it, so it was safe to use on baby's high chair etc. It was a God send, but now I have to use a crap substitute that you have to rinse off after, so annoying.

Funny the odd things we miss. My USC wife, having lived in UK misses Flash. She says there is nothing like it for cleaning the Kit/Bath floors. Or is it just our imagination, that it was or is better.
