Totally agree. There's no automatic right of entry for visitors so don't pay for flights and then give someone a reason (however minor it may seem to you) not to let you in.

No he didn't. It was something like LeighV_B. My bet would be they search for s slew of keywords, and certain messages are flagged. These are then reviewed by human eyes.

Something like what? They used British slang for partying and a line from Family Guy ffs. And announced when and where they would be going. If the DHS is this clueless it doesn't exactly bode well for their ability to make us safer.

I am starting to become somewhat hopeful. More and more of you are starting to be outraged. Thank the maker.

Um, I think you'll find that the British have had a very healthy disrespect for authority and authoritarianism for some time. Whether it emanates from the government or from paramilitary "militias". Or from the Church.

I'm not hot and bothered by it even though I do see the case for "both" sides.

What's even funnier is that Marilyn Monroe is apparently buried in a crypt, so "digging her up" would have been more than a little problematic anyway.

Er, I'm guessing DHS has access to computers. It would have been a relatively easy task to verify his claim the quote was from Family Guy and that his claim regarding British slang was also correct. Clearly they didn't even do this rudimentary bit of investigation, so The "American meaning" - which is no different from the non-slang British meaning anyway - is pretty much moot.

I do feel sorry for the couple involved because I'm sure that they never saw this coming. They've lost money and they might never be able to get back into the US again. It should be a lesson to everyone to be careful about what they post online.

Indeed, consider everything you say, every possible permutation and combination. Is it politically correct? I don't want to commit thought crime.

I find my head shaking at all parties involved. Several thoughts -- consider the agency involved. But also, consider the source of the newspaper report. Also the old saw about "my football field, my football, my rules."
I'm waiting to see a story about a refusal of admission because some has "Coming Into Los Angeles" on the I-Pod.
