departure
Just wondering ? how do U.S. immigration know you leave the country ? all i have ever had to do is show my passport g/c and the airline person enters nothing except issue baggage tickets , is it just flight manifest ? if so , surely the sheer volume would mean most of this is deleted after the safe arrival of flights etc , just very curious having read a few posts on people having re- entry issues with the gestapo !

Re: departure
They do a scan of your passport and GC and that takes the info into the system (or at least it's supposed to.)

At EU ports you are generally scanned when they are looking for someone. The US tends to scan everyone though.
