One thing that I don't really understand about this, what's to stop a potential applicant sanitising their social media prior to application? As far as I am aware, Facebook does not have a function to view a page 'as it was' previously.

Of course people will mention 1A, but as these are aliens, they aren't entitled to those protections.

FIFY. That aside, there are more issues than you can shake a shitty stick at. Is John Smith going to remember his Facebook account number that distinguishes him from the other few thousand John Smiths on FB? Is he going to recall accounts he stopped using five years ago? Are the social media sites individually named, or is John going to have to interpret the phrase ‘social media’? If they are named, how many years will it take to add a new site to the list? Will John need to include his dog’s account? Given the government’s apparent lack of ability to act on accounts linked to accused terrorists and other undesirables, how are they going to handle this new influx of information? Will they require passwords? What about 2FA? What diplomatic issues will arise with other countries when they try to bypass privacy settings for foreign accounts? How will they identify fake accounts created purely for the purpose of obtaining a visa? ....

And five year's worth of phone numbers and email addresses? How good do they think people's memories are?!!
I've had at least 8 different mobile numbers while visiting the UK over the last few years, and at least 4 registered to me in Aus, of which I only know the main one. not to mention a myriad of email addresses for work, ebay, gumtree, forum use, surveys etc etc:blink::sneaky::lol:

One wonders that if they discover one that was not mentioned on the form, if this will be construed as misrep and a denial will follow. Seems designed to trip people up.
