Default The "Dear Leader" dies

Kim Jong Il, the "Dear Leader" has passed away.

I used to travel to Korea a lot on business. In fact, i was in Seoul when Kim Il Sung, the "Great Leader" passed away.

It will be interesting to see if Kim Jong-eun, the "Brilliant Comrade" takes power.

From what I understand, it took Kim Jong Il a few years to fully consolidate power after his father died, so I'd imagine a similar path to complete power for Kim Jong Eun. One would hope this would make way for NK becoming more open to the global community, but I doubt much will change under the next chapter of this dynasty.

I remember Time Magazine referring to the PRK as not only as the world's last Stalinist state -- its leader from Stalin's time was still in power.

Apparently spelling of the Dear Leader's name has been changed from "Kim Jong il" to "Kim Jong Ded"

The good news, they won't need to waste much wood on his coffin. Maybe get 50% off the price.

I can see China trying to poke its nose in here, if it hasn't already done so. NK should be left to sit in its own sh1t, although it is a dangerous country and could become more dangerous with junior in charge.

It's no surprise as he'd been Il for a while. Other than the news this is the first time I've seen anything about this today. I bet if he'd been on XFactor it would be all over Facebook and Twitter. I was expecting all kinds of jokes etc to chuckle to.

From the medals on the uniforms of some of those North Korean generals, I'd say they must have some brilliant military exploits to their credit.

Well there was that war in the 1950s which was never formally ended. I guess that's when the medals date from
