Default Day Care Costs

Hi All,
Can somebody advise us on average day care cost for 2 kids In a good daycare center in NewJersey. One child is 3 and the other 15 months.I read it would be $1600-$2000.All I want to know is is that for 1 child or two.
Cheers

I'd suspect that would be for one unless you are hiring a nanny.

I'm on LI, and we pay about $1300 per month for one. Generally the second child would get a 10% discount.

You can pay more and less than that, so it could be $1600 for one, or $2000 for two.

Sounds about right per kid, check to see if that's full time, because that's around 3 days a week here where I live for $1500 ish, plus you've got to provide nappies and food for babies on top, usually gets included once they are toddlers though.

Might depend where in NJ. Ours is pretty good (one adult per two babies usually for under 18 month olds) and is only $250 a week. Once they move up to the older group the price goes down a bit.

In the Tampa 'burbs we pay $161 a week for our 20 month old with a big national chain type place. Was $190 before she was a year.

Probably a bit less than what we pay down here I would guess, given the economic index most of Kentucky is on the low side.

A friend of mine in Boston pays $2,000/month for one. Around here I believe it tops out at about $1,000/month - though I'm sure you could probably do less - depends on whether it's private, etc.
