Thinking about it I don't have that many movie "backups". Most of my DVDs are stuff I've recorded off the TV, like sci-fi shows and comedies off satellite TV.
Not sure that makes a difference, but you never know.

Do you mean as to whether you broke any laws or not? You can argue that a backup to a dvd you own isn't breaking any laws. But things you've recorded from tv - I'm not sure. I think that would probably be OK.
