The United flight from IAD to LHR has been running everyday (mostly half full) which we've been monitoring. It stopped running in Jan and Feb but apart from that has flown every day reasonably normally. Son went back to Uni last month on it and we will be using it in June. When booking we saw the Virgin flight but that Virgin route was just starting up and a reasonable chance it would be cancelled if the current restrictions were not lifted. I think there are Virgin flights from JFK and MIA to LHR that are running everyday, so you'll probably be routed via there.

Germany has banned UK visitors due to variants, all seems a guess as to what could happen.

Thought the cheap flight was too good to be true! Assume we will get a full refund and then will probably book on United as the direct route would be preferable.

Has anyone recently traveled from UK to US as a parent of a US citizen under 21? If so, what documentation were you required to show?

Copy of birth certificate, copy of marriage certificate (if you’re not indicated on the birth certificate) and copy of passport (if issued). Don’t check in online but arrive at airline counter at least 3 hours prior to departure. Safe travels!

I've asked this in another thread I think and had no reply but what difference does checking in online make? It doesn't stop them checking your documents at bag drop for example.

This was the answer. You may wish to double-check it however.

Flying to the UK in a couple of weeks time. Holding out a hope, probably forlorn, that the US is added to the "Green List" tomorrow.

Unlikely given that 900+ Covid-19 deaths were posted for the U.S. yesterday.

I didn't think the next review was until 7th June. Given current trend of cases, hospitalisations, deaths and vaccination, it's not impossible it makes it. Some degree of politics will also play a part no doubt.

Apologies, you're right. I had read somewhere that it was tomorrow but checking it now it does look like it's June 7th.

Given the vaccination rate of the US I think there's a chance, but probably a month or two too soon.

7 June coincides with the start of the G7. I’d be surprised if there wasn’t movement by then.

With the UK approving the Janssen one today, it seems highly likely they will hit the target of ALL adults by July getting at least one dose and the vast majority being fully covered with that being a single jab. Provided they don't keep making a mess of the latest variant, there would be little left to exclude the UK from US travel by that point. Vice versa, getting on the Green list is now a matter of time for the USA which seems to have finally broken the back of the infection rate.

Israel are the canary in the mine and things look pretty good there (vaccine related, not so good with other things).

Your argument would make sense if the UK didn’t operate a quasi-open border policy. Thus, I do not foresee the UK getting preferential treatment (pertaining to the PPs) over Schengen.
