Default Cult kids TV shows

Just got back from blighty with a new DVD with episodes of 'chorlton and the wheelies', 'dangermouse', 'rainbow', 'jaimie and the magic torch' and others on it. Anybody else have as many fond memories as me of these excellent programmes?

jaimie and the magic torch was my fave.....

I am building up a collection of Brit DVDs to take to the US when I go. So far in the kids selection I have Trumpton , Camberwick green, The Herbs, Mary Mungo & Midge & Roobarb & Custard, and I have on order Micheal Bentines 'Potty time'. Mr. Ben will surely be on the list. This week I got (not on the kids list!) Rising Damp & Whatever happened to the likely lads.

Does this age me?!!?

I along with the rest of you obviously loved these programmes and still do, and was watching a documentary which said Chorlton was an anti semitic Nazi, Mr Benn was a closet homosexual and Bagpuss was a tale of the oppresion of the working class. Where do these pillocks live? I've never heard such twaddle, people like these are the reason I'm leaving.

ps where did you get them?

I bought them in HMV, although amazon.co.uk has a huge selection. One thing, you will need a multi region DVD player in the US to play them. I got one from an online electronics shop for $99 and it works great! Also brought back the first 5 series of only fools and horses, Ali G and peter kay live...smashing!

I have to say that Mr Ben disturbed me, he was a shoplifting Kleptomaniac :P

Dangermouse was the only kids show that treated kids as intelligent and was my fav for a long time.

let us not forget the pornographic Captain Pugwas, rodger the cabinboy, seaman stains and all that

Because heaven forbid we allow freedom of speech and freedom of thought, you are much better off in America where freedom of thought and freedom of speech are controlled tighter!
