Default Criminal record

If you put NO on the AOS form to the question about Criminal record, are they certain to find out? The reason I'm asking is that my U>S> wife doesnt know about my past (Not that I"M a murderer or drug dealer and I 've never served time) but she would've had a fit if I had put YES. Now I'm about to ger fingerprints done and I'm panicing. I have never had any police problems since living in US.
Anyone have any advice?

If anybody ever finds out about it, even long after the AOS is approved, even after
you are a citizen, you would be deported (and stripped of your US citizenship). Don't
do it. The best thing I could tell you is to not show your I-485 to your wife before
you mail it. There still is a good chance that INS may ask you for an interview, and
it may well come up during the interview. Personally, I think that if you can't tell
your wife, you have a problem in the first place.

That said, having a criminal record is a problem with AOS in its own right, unless it
is a minor crime.
