The website doesn't stop credit checks, it just takes you off the list of potential customers for unsolicited credit cards. Pretty much the same thing as putting yourself on the do not call list but for credit card offers.

My bad sorry......I used to get damn junk mail sent to my home address every week from Citibank especially and I have no connection with them, when I checked my credit history, at the time I was not signed up for alerts it was full of bloody Citibank
