Credit History

Hi All,

I will be moving to the US from the UK shortly, Bentonville area, can anyone suggest any banks that I can open from the UK to help start building up my credit history within the US to avoid starting from a fresh?

Any recommendations appreciated?

Also does anyone have any ideas to share about how starting from a fresh credit history has affected them whilst in the US, such as higher interest rates on car payments, utilities, etc.

Thanks in advance

Re: Credit History

These questions have been asked many times. Might I suggest that you (i) take a look at the wikis, and (ii) use the search function looking for recent threads on banks and credit. :)

Have you tried using the Search function? There must be about 100 threads on this subject.

In short, until you have a US address and SSN, you can't start building a credit score. The only thing that (it seems) transfers across is an Amex card.
