Problem relatives you see

Never mind, most of us are quite nice and don't say stupid things like that. I normally play in The Lounge, where serious conversation is, er, not the norm, but there are plenty of free spirits and fun to be had. Unfortunately, it currently appears to broken, but I'm sure the powers that be will fix it.

On the work thing - if you just wany cash, you don't have to put whatever job you take for 2 months on your cv at all. It can just disappear. I've done that. If you want something interesting, then volunteering can be a good way to go and get a foot in the door. It might also be worth consulting a few temp agencies - no long term commitment, but many places use temps to see whether or not they like the person, and if you do a good job you can be offered something permanent. Gives you a chance to test the company, too.

Thank you, I am sure will work it out, spent last 15 years advising others on how to find jobs retrain etc and dealt with people from abroad and asylum seekers but advising yourself and being on this side of the desk is so different. Used to think I knew it all now I know bugger all!!

OH is going away for 2 months next week so will be on my own. I would have not advised people to do a lower skilled jobs as how it looks on CV, but does that matter here? Is the fact that you've worked better than not. Some of these food workers seem to get pretty good tips I could be very charming!!

So..............the old mans going away for 2 months then

Are you 100% sure that is an option over here.
I've known people get into trouble with this in the US.
One guy I know who worked in IT didn't put on his cv that he also used to work in blockbuster at weekends for some extra cash. When a potential new employer ran a background check after offering him a job his blockbuster employment showed up on it and his offer was revoked.

I asked him why as he was married about the same time I was..............his reply......................."hotels are full of women away from their husbands and they want to play around!" I asked some more and he told me he had slept with over 50 women since he had been married with women on buisiness trips. I was shocked and some what disgusted/jealous.
Good luck with the job hunt though.
I think you've got a bloody nerve writing that.

I've been with my husband for over 20 years and we're still very much in love. For all of our married life he has been on overseas business trips - right now he is in Geneva and immediately before flying there had been in London for a fortnight. It's true that 'absence makes the heart grow fonder'.....and now with Skype we have free phone calls with webcams - yes we have video phone sex....it's a lot of fun

At the end of the day it comes down to trust and how strong your marriage/partnership is. I trust my husband implicitly and I know he trusts me too. I'm not naive....we lived out in Asia where many beautiful young women see a Western guy (married ones are no impediment) as a passport to a life free of poverty.

My husband was/is away about 60-70% of the time, working - and having to socialise - in places like Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bombay, Tokyo, Sydney etc..... and he's told me stories about the infidelities of his colleagues or other expats that would make ones hair curl. Not once did I ever worry that he would get off with a local Asian woman...he doesn't drink so doesn't do stupid things due to being drunk...in addition he's seen too many messy divorces due to his colleague's inability to keep their trousers zipped up.

I think you should apologise to Bradford Lass for making such an unwarranted assumption about her spouse. I feel sorry for you if you feel that you don't have the strength of character to stay faithful to your wife if you are on a long business trip.
