What visa/employment/residency circumstance?
Just trying to get an idea of the full picture.
You may need specialized help or just buy Turbo Tax or similar.

For example, back home, do you have a property empire or just one property and one rental income?

As much information as possible please.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone keeps a list of tax professionals.
Someone with experience of your scenario may be along to make a suggestion.
You can also use the search function for similar queries.

You don't mention when you came or how long you've been here.
Do you know if you you were a US tax resident for 2018?
Do you assume you'll be a tax resident for this year?

Does your employer not have anyone to help?

I'm in the same situation, so will follow this thread. Based in California and looking for professional advice on US/UK tax & finances.

Hi Maya

Not a tax pro but...
Could you indicate the complexity of your finances.
Not amounts but investments/pensions/property etc... (Although you should be aware of FBAR and FATCA in case they apply to you.)
Permanent resident? Tax resident? Visa etc...?
Have you filed taxes before?
Any info helps to form a picture.

Thank you for the reply. Same situation as the other expat on the thread. Aware of the regulations - just wanting to find someone in CA with British and CA expertise.

Ok, not providing detail is ok I suppose...but it lessens the possibility of meaningful responses.

You may need paid expert help.
Or you may not.

When I arrived I used..
