Couric says to leave NBC for rival CBS
""Today" show host Katie Couric announced her departure from NBC on Wednesday to join rival CBS, where she was to become the first sole woman anchor of a major U.S. network evening newscast.
Couric told her "Today" audience she was leaving at the end of May after 15 years, longer than any other anchor of the 54-year-old morning show, to join the CBS "Evening News" and "60 Minutes."..."

So the silly ole slapper has jumped ship for a "serious" position...errr...not really her background is it? not that I care as I don't watch 60 mins, but would be interesting to see how long everyone thinks she'll last...

As a sports fan I find Bob Costas particularly grating.

Good riddance to the bitter hag. I might actually start watching the today show again.

Is is me, or is Katie Couric the single worst presenter/interviewer in the history of television? All I can say is, it's given me another good reason to carry on getting most of my news from the BBC and NPR.

It has shown up just what a joke US network television news is though, and the cable channels aren't much better. Although Fox News is sometimes good for a laugh.
