Your laptop charger should work without a transformer, check the label on it - you'll just need a travel adaptor (couple of bucks), same goes for your iPod (the mains adaptor should work in UK and the US, if its the firewire version then you can charge if from your laptop without using the mains adaptor).
That just leaves the video camera, so your first choice is propably more than adequate. If you don't want to 'waste' money on something you will only use a couple of times and your daughter has a garage or its safe to leave belongings in the car) then you can buy a car power invertor. You can use this in the UK, back in the US and some models even have a cable to use it on the plane!
This (just $22!!!) should provide enough power to charge each device on its own:
