It has not changed in years. You do not have to carry ANY driver documents in the UK whilst driving a Motor vehicle on a road. When stopped by a Police Officer he has the right to demand to see it,however if you do not have it on you, he will issue you with a HO/RT/1 for you(the driver) to produce which documents he req's to see.You will be given 7 CLEAR days as of midnight on the day you were stopped to produce such documents at a designated Police Station of your choice. However with so many now closed or part time its difficult to find one open or a cop to answer the bloody door in case its a job?. I trust that answers your query,Sir, over and out !!Have a good day !

Didn't I read that an ultra-violet light would soon prove a a DL was forged or not here in the States? Quite an inexpensive, quick and easy way to check it to me.

Criminals will just spray the card with sun block before it is held under the light.

So do nothing then, is that what you are saying? Just let people know that it doesn't matter. Sorry to say I disagree with you a great deal.

But not here in Florida... I got stopped for speeding today ...
a bit of professional courtesy got me of the speeding ...
But for not having a licence on me ...I got a citation for
the magnificent amount of $7.50 which I will pay ..

There will a collection going around later......
