Closer to man than ape...
What are the 'Intelligent design' lunatics going to make of this then:
"""...tests (by scientists, whose study appears today in the US journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences) ... showed that even though humans and chimps split from a common ancestor between 5m and 7m years ago, the rate at which their genetic codes were evolving was extremely similar, differing by only 3%, and much slower than gorillas and orang-utans.
"This study provides further support for the hypothesis that humans and chimpanzees should be in one genus, rather than in two different genuses, because we not only share extremely similar genomes, we share similar generation time," said Dr Yi."""

* Chimps will want equal rights
* Lawyers will be doing class action lawsuits on chimps behalfs for their years
of being locked up, abused and made to bananas all the time
* The word "Chimps" will be derogatory - "Chimpanzees" have rights now
* PG-Tips will have to issue a public appology for years of abuse
* Gay Chimpanzees will be allowed to to marry
* Chimpanzees will STILL be allowed to have a role in Government
* A new govt bill called "No Chimp left behind" will be funded
* Chimps will want to be able to ride motobikes without helmets
* People will not be able to say, "why do all chimps look alike"
* Chimps, average lifespan is 50 years - will want to retire on full pension at 35
* Licking someone else's arse will be made legal in public
* What does God look like now ?
