Citizenship Test
Hi All,
Took the test yesterday at 1pm in St Louis.
Was out after 15 minutes.
Got asked 5 questions.Read and wrote a sentence that he asked.
Now have to wait for the letter for the Oath Ceremony.
Also No Dual citizenship. Thought everyone said we could have both ??

Re: Citizenship Test
Congrats
and if your have British citizenship, then you don't lose it, the oath ceremony basically means that you renounce old citizenship to the US, which means you enter/leave the US as a US citizen and can't ask the US for help involving foreign citizenship such as doing a runner from national service from your other country citizenship.

Remind me again...
I'm on a green card. How long do you need to be in the country prior to applying for citizenship?
I'm just coming up on 3 years here (May 25th)!

You have to agree to Oath that says you give it up. Like someone said you actually have to go through some hoops to do that back there.
Im glad its done.
Just get the Ceremony over and i'll be fine.
Didnt take long really.
I put the N400 in on November 1st 2005 . Had letter in Jan 06 for fingerprints that month. Then March 8th letter for May 11th test ..So 6 1/2 months is good.

Re: Citizenship Test
Yes, you can continue to hold citizenship in another country as long as THAT country allows it. For the UK and Canada there is no such issue. I'm assuming the DAO told you that ;-) Suggest you read the citizenship and renouncing thread on the marriage-visa page which is going hot and heavy on just this topic at the moment.
