Hey -

I have a complex situation. I have had green card for the last 5 years. I was
physically present for more than 2.5 years.

But during the 5 years I applied for returning resident permit. I went away for 4
consecutive trips that lasted about 5.5 months. So I went for 5.5 months, came back
here and stayed 3 weeks, went again for 5.5 months and so on.

So none of my trips was for longer than 6 months and I was physically present for
more than 2.5 years. According to most sources I am eligible for citizenship - is
that correct?

Physical presence requrement seems to be OK here. However, multiple such long abences
may or may not raise a question in someone's mind unless there is a very good reason
for such absences.

Please consult an attorney.
