This year I think we'll have turkey for Christmas dinner, primarily because OH and I were on a flight to Europe on Thanksgiving and missed the festivities. Last year my mother fixed a roast and Yorkshire pudding of all things.
In our family the primary tradition is on Christmas morning. We eat a breakfast that consists of puffed pastry filled with a mixture of hard-boiled egg, dried beef, button mushrooms and artichoke hearts in a white sauce. I believe the dish is Swedish in origin but am not sure of that. What I do know is, it's very yummy.

I thought I would be ok not having the traditional (for my family) turkey dinner at christmas, so one year didn't bother. I felt like crying for days afterwards and I've never been so close to saying effit and going back home.
So I always do turkey now. For the first time in years Mr J and I are both off work for Xmas day and Boxing day, so we plan to cook loads and live off leftovers for days and not move from the house![Sunglasses](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/sunglasses.gif)
But Mexican sounds pretty bloody good, maybe for xmas eve,,,,hmmmm
