Chills

Do you have a song that you have to sing if it comes on the car radio?
[
B]Goodbye Yellow Brick Road[/B]
This was stuck in my head all day yesterday!

When are you gonna come down
When are you going to land
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man

You know you can't hold me forever
I didn't sign up with you
I'm not a present for your friends to open
This boy's too young to be singing the blues

So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough

Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny back toad
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road

What do you think you'll do then
I bet that'll shoot down your plane
It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again

Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain't got a penny
Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground

I once started bawling my eyes out in Stop and Shop when I heard a line in Young Turks by Rod Stewart..

"With a tear in her eye as she kissed her little sister goodbye!"

My Dad is a big Bob Dylan fan (thats why he called me Dylan)

THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a - changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a - changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a - changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a - changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a - changin'.

I ALWAYS SING THIS TO MY DAD WHEN HE BABBLES ON ABOUT THE YOUTH OF TODAY

"Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a - changin'."

I was named after Patrick McGoohan (the prisoner)

We are a growing army of Dylan's. Say hi from me.

I have a 3 year son called Oliver. My dad wanted me to call him "Donovan" after the singer... I loved it but my wife wouldnt have it.

Going off the subjest sorry... I genuinely have a number plate for sale "D9LAN". Dont really want to sell it, but i am going Stateside, let me know if you are interested.

I think the Prisoner was an Iron Maiden song too (but those times are about 15 years behind me now)
