Changing name

I divorced USC hubby back in July and decided not to change my name. However I'm now leaning towards going back to my maiden name, i know I can register a name change with the Alaskan courts but how do i go about letting USCIS know about it ?

Check your divorce papers. Mine says on the last page that I have the right to resume my former surname. Yours might as well.

Nothing to contact USCIS about. You are no longer a PR but a USC. You have no further dealings with the USCIS.

I don't think you need to inform USCIS of a name change, just an address change if you move.

Unless, of course, you want to obtain a replacement green card showing your new name.

I would think she'd be able to resume her former surname even if it wasn't in the divorce papers. Divorce (or marriage, for that matter) doesn't alter your right to use your own name.
