Ps...you seriously have far too much time on your hands! Now bugger off and get some work done. Or post something in the funny picture thread!

9/9 Mailed to Durham via USPost Office - $23.95 - flat rate express mail.
(claims 6 - 10 day delivery). No recievee signature or insurance. Just receipt from PO and copy of customs label.

9/18 US Credit Card posted $236.27. Plus $7.08 foreign transaction fee.

I'm hoping that they accept the Walgreen's photograph.

I used the Durham address that is on their website. The post office I use is pretty rural and sometime slow in delivery but they had no problem using that post code.

We have friends in County Durham who live in No Place.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Place

Interesting thread as our daughter has decided to renew her British Passport, from where she lives in L.A. She asked me if I knew where the nearest place was to issue a passport, and I thought I knew before seeing this thread.

There is no issue with the post code as such, just with trying to send to it via certain services (Priority tracking).

As posted on the other thread I'm quite impressed:

Youngest daughter's renewal was sent on the 10th September via DHL, delivered 12th Sept, credit card fee taken 13th September, old documents returned 19th September and new passport delivered yesterday 23rd September. Photos done at Walgreens - they had a file of different types for differnt countries - plugged in UK and away they went.

All in all a pretty slick operation

They can be. When applying from outside the UK you have to choose "my mum" as the courier.

Well, I'm not sure it works if you just choose "someone's mum". I guess it might, but its kinda chancy and there are Freddos on the line here.

I could, of course, choose 'my mum'. But my passport isn't up for renewal until next year and if I want to travel I really should get one of those nice blue ones first, or I'll not get back in
