Thumbs down Celeb Drug Abusers + Admission to the US

I don't get it.

How come that well-known heroin abuser, Pete Doherty of the band "Babyshambles" was admitted to the States last week with his girlfriend model Kate Moss although he has criminial convictions?

He is constantly in the British tabloid newspapers about his debauched lifestyle as he is a big-time druggie; he was kicked out of his band 'The Libertines' for being out of control and has recently been in prison for theft.

Only last month he was arrested at Oslo airport with heroin and crack cocaine. He is a total mess and it's obvious just looking at him that he takes drugs.

Yet he somehow gets a visa or visa waiver to be admitted to the US!

His girlfriend Kate Moss was busted last week in the "Daily Mirror" after being caught on tape cutting out 20 lines of cocaine in a London recording studio and the story broke whilst she and Doherty were in New York city last week for Fashion Week....the irony is that in June she won a court case and substantial damages from the 'Daily Mirror' for a story they ran on her drug use which she denied.

The following link was written by Tony Parsons back in January when he reported on Kate Moss' romance with Doherty....look at this quote:

..."Doherty is 25 years old. I would say that his chances of living much beyond his 26th birthday are slim and none"

Yet the US Immigration Officer allowed him into the country? It doesn't make sense to me.

Actually I remember reading that John Lennon wouldn't leave the States for years once he was admitted. He was terrified that he wouldn't be allowed back in due to previous convictions for possessing cannabis.

Come to think of it, Paul McCartney was once banged up in jail in Japan for possessing dope.

He never has a problem coming over to perform concerts does he?

(Don't know if any of the Rolling Stones have drug convictions, but it's well known that they've consumed a lot of drugs over the years, especially Keith Richards. They're always touring the US too).

Are some of them dual citizens maybe?

I was reading something a day or two ago, re: Crowe. He says he's sick of the suitcaseful of paperwork he has to file to get a visa to work here, so they can bugger off as he isn't leaving Sydney for the trial if they don't lower the charges or something along those lines..

I loved the Big Breakfast when he did it with Denise. It was also good with Liza Tarbuck. Didn't he do a radio show after that? Also had a BBC show I think. Didn't know he was in trouble for cocaine.....wow.
