https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/corona...ations-abroad/ There was a discussion a few months back and some folks managed to get their records moved over and some didn’t https://britishexpats.com/forum/movi...uk-nhs-939122/ |
Re: CDC card and NHS app
Eventually the UK will have to accept foreign-issued vaccine passes like France does. Otherwise tourism is doomed.

I agree with what's been said before; foreign tourism will shrivel if no way is provided for visitors to use evidence from their own country of vaccination in place of the NHS App. |
Re: CDC card and NHS app
I don’t think the solution is putting non UK vaccinations in to the NHS app. The Op likely has access to this because she was formerly UK resident and is still on the NHS systems. With so many different countries / systems there needs to either be some sort of non country specific app that anyone can opt in / have their data transferred to and then each county would only need to accept their own and an international one. That should also then be where airlines can check.

To enter the country as a vaccinated person. Not for use instead of the NHS "vaccine passport" for venues that now require it.

The page is entitled "Prove your coronavirus (COVID-19) status to work at venues or events operating COVID-19 status checks". Does it also apply to those attending such events as opposed to working at them? Page is a bit of a mess so who knows...
“International visitorsIf you are an international visitor and your vaccination proof is accepted at the UK border, this will also be accepted for entry into places where the NHS COVID Pass is being used.See the full list of currently approved countries and territories. You may be asked to show evidence of your COVID-19 status from the country in which you were vaccinated.” … now if the person on the door will know or accept that is a different story…. |

Friends of ours are visiting from Singapore at the mo, everywhere has accepted their vaccines in place of the Covid Pass. |

Yep, it’s in the visitors bit, it’s odd that it’s on that page but this page also has info - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-covi...ngs-in-england

I was in England for nine weeks. At no point was I asked to prove my vaccination status. I carried my CDC card just in case, but never had to show it. I visited museums and lots of other indoor public places.

Re: CDC card and NHS app
My concern is that I won’t argue with security staff at bars etc. when they’re seeing a CDC card for the first times in their lives.
France, for example, managed this situation very well. I didn’t think I’d say this but for once I am actually very impressed with their level of organization in the digital era. Cafes, bars etc. will scan your QR code. The QR code is given to anyone who can prove their vaccination (regardless of country) on France’s online platform. My approval in September came through in five minutes. |
