5% or less of those illegally work in Agriculture. The US did have a specific programme to cover the seasonal needs of Agriculture and of course there is the H2.
As I understand the BoA Programme is open to all who have held a checking account with them for 3 months without incurring an overdraft.
It has been all over the radio, somebody tried to apply for one and was told that they had to be Hispanic... I do not believe that is the case, although that would appear to be the primary market.
Just wondering if it is equally open to those who do have a SSN, and lousy credit, and did not want to use their SSN and the inevitability of their credit rating being picked up.

So, instead of the usual - it is wrong, it is unlawful and nothing anybody says or does will change that, a more constructive approach is needed. Give them credit cards, give them home loans and maybe then, one day, they will become legal citizens and we can really start complaining, this time about all these former illegals getting health care and welfare benefits.

Certainly a factor.
I know someone in the landscaping business, they prefer 'fresh from the border' for a variety of other reasons.

i think that illegal immigration is wrong and unlawful. now it's bank of america offering credit cards and last year it was wells fargo who announced it was offering home loans to illegal immigrants.
imo anytime you have a bank lending money to help people buy homes when they're not even allowed to be in the country because they are illegal, it is something that runs contrary to the law, surely it aids and abets people who are breaking the law
it's about time the powers that be increased the penalty to the wealthy business owners who are hiring the illegal immigrants in the first place.

It's just making it easier for people to use false names etc without the normal checks and balances (sorry no pun intended) that were in place to try and stop it.
Sorry OP not your original intention of your post but interesting subject!

It's the illegals who bring wages down, they can't afford to complain.

The illegals do bring down wages, but the blame really lands with the government for not enforcing the laws surrounding those who employ illegals. Give them huge fines and they would soon see it is not profitable to employ illegal workers. The whole thing is of course too big now for the send them all back attitude. As I have said it is a problem that must be addressed but never will be while so many people are making millions of $$ out of the situation. And these employers probably wave the flag and believe themselves to be good patriotic americans. Makes you sick really.
