Car insurance back in the UK

Hi
Can anyone advise me ...

When I return to the UK this year, I should have had 3 1/2 years no claims insurance history in Canada, added to around 2 years no claims in England before I moved out here.

Will British car insurers take into account my Canadian driving history and if so, what documentation do I need to provide them with?

I cannot even remember who I was insured with before I left the UK ....

It cost me such a lot in car insurance as an immigrant, I hate to think I am going to be penalised again and treated as a new driver when I return.

Thanks

I have spoken a few companies and they all accept overseas no claims, they just ask for written proof. There is no reason you will have to start over again.

We had 8 years no claims from Canada and got insured through Zurich for £300 pa for our first year back in the UK. The next year we got our insurance just less than £200 pa.
I can remember paying $3500pa insurance in Calgary for a Ford Escort which we we paying £100 pa for the same car a year before in the UK.

Thanks for these postings .... I paid around $2700 for my first year's car insurance here and I do not want to go back to Square One again!

One less thing to worry about!
