A point to remember ..if you buy a car here get it collected by the shipping company ...do not drive it around over here ..if it shipped from the dealer premise ...no sales tax is payable ... PM terry at TRPardoe ..he works for a large Ford dealership ...

thanks guys - despite trawling the internet its actually very hard to find a dealer/export company willing to quote anything. looks like I'll buy then ship personally.
its for next year but as I well know this things take bloody ages to sort out and ship and get through customs so you have to set it up early!

Can't find any reference to age but you have to prove you have owned it in foreign country for 6 months and then keep it for 12 months in the UK. Import duty is 10% and VAT 17.5% (although i thought it was different rate on cars?) on landed value (including shipping costs). This might have changed recently though?

Do they pick up specialist motors? Thought about taking a 'stang back a few times - there is plenty of money in it, but outside of London the market isnt that big. Nice little earner though - especially at the current exchange rate!
