hi all,

if i've interpreted the k1faq.com website correctly, it appears two things are needed for me to work in the us once we have had our k1 petition approved and i've got safely in.

1) an ead from my poe

2) a social security number

having previously worked legally under the f-1 conditions whilst a student in iowa in 1998, i've already got a social security card with my number, stamped with "valid with ins authorization."

so my question is this: once i get an ead, can i just start looking for work with my existing social security number, or do i need to apply for a new one to operate in conjunction with this new visa?

sorry if there's an extremely obvious answer to this - better to appear blindly stupid than run into trouble later...

many thanks,

kate (uk) & aaron (us)
