Angry Calling All Knowledgeable Ones Help!

Hello to all who will help me,

My k1 fiancee visa started processing from the date of the 8th of August 2002, at the Nebraska service centre.

Now when I first looked at peoples k1 timelines on websites, they mostly had recieved it within 3 months, some even earlier.

This is where my confusion sets in. On all the processing times for Nebraska, apparently they are still doing april right now, why? I can't comprehend, but on top of that, people are saying that they can expect to wait another 3 months from this date to recieve their visa's. Is this completely insane?

And if this is true, am I to expect my visa next christmas! I'm just so confused with all these conflicting stories of successfull short visa, and then these awful Nebraska stories.

As you can see I am really upset, especially considering I thought I would recive my visa before this christmas so I could go home and be with my wife.

I completely appreciate everyone who reads and helps me on this and god bless your hearts for helping in any way.

Yours Sincerely

Kevin McKean

Long story short on Nebraska, from what I can tell from various postings they are currently approving petitions with a 1st NOA date of 05/23. Or around about in that time frame. Anytime someone calls they get different information depending on who they talk to, so they aren't much help to us who are waiting to be with the one's we love.

As I am sure you will soon find, Nebraska is currently the most backed up of all the service centers. Apparently this is due to closing for 3 weeks for security upgrades, and them being severely short staffed. I'll hit day 100 this week. I'm hoping that now that they "appear" to be catching up I will have my approval sometime in October so we can move to the next phase.

Hang in there! I know, it is easier said than done....you'll find lots of support here from the Nebraska filers as we are all waiting so long and eager to here from others who are getting approved.

Best wishes to you and your fiance.

Which is she ...your fiancee or your wife. Don't need to tell you that a K-1 is for a fiancee visa and a wife ain't a fiancee any longer.

NBS is taking approximately 3 months or longer to approve the I-129F and then another 2 to 4 months for the US Consulate to approve the K-1. A lot depends on which country you are in for the K-1 portion.

Fiancee Visas normally take 3 to 6 months of complete. Why did she wait until August to start the petition?

Hi Kevin..
Well first thing Nebraska is the centre that seems the slowest in
processing these visas.. but please hang on in there in the past
couple of months they seem to have speeded yup a little My 1st NOA
was dated 24th May and I spoke to the Newbraska office only yesterday
and it is now with an officer so I am hoping to hear real soon..
I know it is a long wait but just know in your heart that you
will be with your wife real soon.. you dont say which embassy you
will be going to for you visa interview, but you can cut down
the time it takes to get the interview by having all the other
bits they wants ready,, ie Police report, birth certificate etc..
you may still make it by chirstmas if all your paperwork is in
order..

She is my fiancee, we're not married yet. And yes It is a k-1.

Now is this 2-4 months from now, or does it start for me when Nebraska start processing Augusts paperwork.

My paperwork started processing from the 8th August, so 70-100 days from that your saying it will be approved? Then I have to wait 4 months for the U.S Embassy in London to approve my k-1?
So would that mean I would be looking at recieving it march or april 2003? Could you please give me an estimate, because if this is true, I must go back to america before christmas and stay there on a visa waiver for 3 months again. I thought I'd be getting my visa in november 2002, and to wait seperated for that long is so hard. Not to mention the pressure that the immigration at the airport put on you if they see one to many visa waiver stamps.

Our fiancee visa started processing on 8th August we didn't wait for anything, that's just when we filed, and I am in the UK.

Thankyou again for responding and spending time helping me, you really all are very kind.

Kevin

I have actually posted my IV15 last week so that it would get processed early. My interview will be in the UK in London.

I just spoke on the phone to the London embassy (shame about the phone bill hehe) They said that on their end of processing to expect 2-4 months. Also if yours was dated May and your still in the process, I'm definately looking at next year.

I am going to go back to the U.S on a visa waiver again at the end of November, otherwise it would be too much. I know it is risky, but I have used the visa waiver so many times and I always get in, despite some immigration officers who scowl at it. Do they expect us to go without our loved ones for months and months on end, what happend to humanity?

I already have all the necessary things ready for my interview, no doubt I'll have to order a third police certificate, because by next march it will be older than 6 months.

Thanks again everyone, for listening to my incessant negative banter hehe!!

Take care

Kevin
