That sucks! Is there any way you can challenge it? Can you find out what their objective criteria for determining residency are? It should be written down, somewhere.* Or, perhaps, you could argue that, if the state thinks you're resident, then you're resident.


*Although I wouldn't be surprised if it said "Criteria: whatever we make up on any given day to screw the most money out of the next poor sod, because we're money grabbing bastards."

Oh, I challenged it, because every criteria they list on their website, I met. They refuse to budge, even when I said it made me want to go to another school I was so annoyed. They just said the website was wrong, and you have to have a green card at least to pay in state tuition. The problem is my NR visa is indefinitely renewable, so it's not like it's the same as having a student visa, which is I guess what they were targeting. Feckers.

Feckers is right. Is there another school you can go to? Or how about suing them? Sounds like bait and switch to me...
